Thorold Theatre is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated return with a spellbinding Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner, set to ignite the stage at Club Capri on Friday, October 25. After a brief hiatus, the company is back and ready to enchant audiences with an evening of suspense, drama, prizes and interactive dinner theatre.  This year’s production, “The Spot”, is an original work penned by Niagara’s very own Tresa Rees. Set in the vibrant and mysterious environment of The Spot Nightclub on Halloween Night, this immersive experience promises to transport attendees into a world where everyone is a suspect and the next twist is just around the corner.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween costumes, blending in with a cast of quirky characters who will be mingling among them throughout the evening. As the plot unfolds, audience members will have the opportunity to interact with the characters, unravel clues, and piece together the puzzle to solve the thrilling murder mystery.

In addition to the thrilling mystery, guests will enjoy a delicious four-course dinner that will be as memorable as the mystery itself! The meal begins with a fresh and flavourful Antipasto, followed by rich, velvety Butternut Ravioli. For the main course, savour a succulent Chicken Supreme, perfectly paired with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. To top it all off, enjoy a sweet treat from the self-serve dessert and coffee tableClub Capri will be fully decked out for Halloween, featuring festive linens and themed centrepieces, setting the perfect mood for a night of intrigue and suspense.

On top of the mystery and dinner, guests will have the chance to win some exciting prizes! We’ll be awarding prizes to some who correctly identify the murderer, as well as recognising the best Halloween costumes of the night.

The Plot:

At the heart of “The Spot” is a web of deceit, unfulfilled ambitions, and simmering rivalries. The Nightclub, owned by Henry Duncan, is a hotspot for drama, thanks to its eclectic staff and patrons. Each character brings their own secrets and desires to the table, creating a rich tapestry of motives and opportunities for mayhem. The evening will be filled with twists and turns as the truth is gradually revealed, making for an unforgettable experience.

Meet the Characters:

Malcolm March (Lounge Singer): A reserved performer struggling with unpaid wages and his wife’s rising ambitions. His desperation might lead him to drastic actions.

Catherine March (Lounge Singer and Malcolm’s Wife): Ambitious and driven, Catherine is conflicted between her career, her marriage, and her role at The Spot. Her choices may have far-reaching consequences.

Jean Shaw (Henry’s Lover): Seeking stability with Henry, Jean’s past and current challenges could make her a central figure in the unfolding drama.

Lois Hayes (Henry’s Ex-Wife): Bitter and isolated after her relationship with Henry ended, Lois’s unresolved issues may push her towards vengeful actions.

Lily Archer (Manager of The Spot): Drawn to the nightclub scene for excitement and financial gain, Lily’s personal entanglements could add to the night’s complications.

Maxwell Collins (Rival Lounge Owner): Struggling against Henry’s success, Maxwell’s rivalry and financial strain might drive him to underhanded tactics.

Henry Duncan (Owner of The Spot): Once a successful entrepreneur, Henry’s life is in turmoil due to mounting pressures and personal failures.
